According to the letter, the 420 FL logo will “tarnish the image of the NFL … and dilutes the strength and value of the NFL trademark.”

North Korea Sentences American Reporters to 12 Years Hard Labor
Laura Ling, the sister of former The View co-host Lisa Ling, and fellow Current TV journalist Euna Lee have been sentenced to twelve years in a labor camp by a North Korean court for crossing that country's border.

Calling it a "grave crime they committed against the Korean nation and their illegal border crossing," the Central Court of North Korea convicted and sentenced the two reporters in a trial that began last Thursday. The U.S. State Department said that outside observers were not allowed to witness the trial's proceedings.

Friends and family of Ling and Lee insist that their border crossing was accidental and have been publicly pleading with the North Koreans for mercy in recent days. Reports CNN:

"When the girls left the United States, they never intended to cross into North Korean soil. And if they did at any point, we apologize," Lisa Ling, Laura Ling's sister, said on "Anderson Cooper 360" on Wednesday.
"And we know that they are very, very sorry. And we ask that you show mercy today," added Lisa Ling, a special correspondent for CNN.
Despite the limited communication, the families say they've heard enough to know the women are "terrified" and "extremely scared."
Current TV employees, including company Chairman Al Gore, had been ordered by their legal team to remain quiet about the situation with Ling and Lee, a stance that they held fast to both individually and as a company, despite some public outcry.

Obviously, this whole thing is a situation fraught with horrendous peril, not only for Ling and Lee, but for the United States in general. One can't escape the feeling that the convictions of Ling and Lee are less about North Korean law and more just another example of provocation by a renegade country led by a mad man. What Kim Jong Il and North Korea hope to gain by this situation is anyone's guess, but one can only imagine what sort of horrors take place inside a North Korean labor camp, and we certainly feel that it's time for the former two-term vice president of the United States to break his silence and start throwing his weight around to crack some serious skulls if he has to in order to get Ling and Lee freed. The Current TV strategy of silence has not worked up to this point and will only continue to reflect poorly on them and Gore going forward.

In the meantime, our thoughts are with Laura Ling and Euna Lee and their traumatized families.

I have read the processes you are suggesting there Dave. Believe me I agree with the process, only it will put a strain on prisons, creating a monster paper trail, for a country -- Mexico, -- who has no way of keeping a paper trail.

And I do understand you have a campaign to run, but this is fBook and in here if something pricks a finger, it is a possible source of viral mandates... the Houston Mayor won her election by being in fBook all during the campaign.

After two paragraphs I can tell you this is too complicated for the average Mexican laborer trying to work in US.

Sometimes I sit here and think, "Man I really do miss all of my cousins up in Itay now that this time I spent all of two months up there, instead of ten days like two years ago. I got to know all of them a lot more than I have always known them." Sometimes I sit and look through the pictures that I took on the last few days off all of my family that I spent most of my time with up there. I smile knowing that they will always be there for me, then all of a sudden, I start having these tears of joy. The tears are sometimes for joy and also for that hurt that I feel deep down inside because I wish I would've stayed there. It also because I got too attached to them like I never have before!!! The last time that I spent the most time up there was back in 1988, and frankly, I really don't remember the past that well. So that kind of hurts to know that I couldn't remember all the good times that we had back in those days.

There will be a time when I can go on that travel alone, and that way I can explore everything there is to know about my family and Foggia, where my mother was raised, and to know where my background is from. That way when I eventually have kids of my own, I can explain my roots. I do know this, when it was time to leave Foggia, majority of my cousins offered me to stay with them for a year and then there were others that said I could work with them to see how I would like it there. Then after staying for a year over there, that is when I could make my decision if I wanted to go back to Texas or stay in Foggia, where I belong, with the family, as they put it.

Ci sarà un periodo in cui posso andare su quella corsa da solo e quel senso che posso esplorare tutto là deve sapere circa la mie famiglia e Foggia, in cui la mia madre è stata alzata e sapere da dove la mia priorità bassa proviene. Quel senso quando finalmente ho capretti dei miei propri, posso spiegare le mie radici. Conosco questo, quando era tempo di lasciare Foggia, maggior parte dei miei cugini lo ho offerto per rimanere con loro per un anno ed allora ci erano altri che dicessero che potrei lavorare con loro per vedere come la gradirei là. What a delicious email CUZ!
I will answer in kind. Yes, mama's b'day was fun. We had a feast and dancing
and singing and hats.......Alices boyfriend Dan is from Kenya, Africa and the
celebration cd he brought for birthdays was magical. We all danced together
except for my straight laced Italian husband!
The visit with Robin and his lovely wife Diane (they call themselves Big Bird
and Lady Di) was great. I think I told you they live in Tampa and Robin is
retired and plays alot of golf and Diane works for NW Airlines and is in the
military reserves, Navy. Robin is so much like my dad that it freaked mama out
a bit.......anyway, it was a good visit.
We are familar with the plights of our Italian family and friends being behind
the times. I get frustrated when Sam wants me to contact them and most don't
have emails! So we have to maybe email a younger cousin who works in a big city
and they in turn call and leave messages. Whatever.
EDGY, EDGY! Cuz, this is a daily deal with me! And yes I know about the gut
wrenching punches when they say and do things that just don't mesh! Mom will
complain of sweating in odd places and maybe feeling light headed. I drop all
and go down there and find out her friggen thermostat is on 85!!!!! So many
little things like this......she didn't want to run up her electric bill from
say $50 to maybe $75.................it is a fine line between their dignity and
our sanity. Lets just keep pumping each other up for now! And yes I felt the
same way when I found out about cousin Steve and his behavior........he is a
selfish one. Very strange too because I always liked Steve.
Most girls like sparkling things and to this day I appreciate a good looking
diamond! The older I get the more I see my limited jewelery for what is really
is. My favorite things that I wear all the time. My wedding ring which
represents the love and devotion for Sam my man and all that he is to me; My
necklace with the 2 tiny diamonds and one saffire which represent the most
precious gift my body could have given me, Cat, Sam and Nina and finally the
circle of love diamond ring on my right had which tells me daily that all the
crap I put up with in 30 years of marriage was worth it! Ha............
You are a wonderul, caring and funny and smart person my CUZ.
I am working on getting our moms together and might just get full fare tickets
for Jerre and Robert to come and see mom............long story, but moms health
is too wierd maybe to bring her down there. I am pondering this so we will see.
I just know that somehow, some way after NOT being able to see Elizabeth, Fran
and sweet, sweet Chuck, our moms have to see each other more often.
Gotta go now and ready me-self for a visit with me son.

It's good to know that I have family eveywhere around the world, considering that now as I write this I am here in Foggia where most of the family is. I am enjoying the long stay here, speaking the language and getting along with everyone. My goal here is to spend time with the family and also try to find me a friend, if you know what I mean. I have circled the town of Foggia four or five times since my stay here, it is nice to see old villas everywhere, but after a while, it feels like home. If I really had a choice and also had something to live on, I would consider just staying, but as of right now, it seems to be going good when visiting every two years for two months at a time.
Well, this is an update from Foggia to let all of you Americans know how the stay is going over here in Foggia with my Foggian folks!!!!!! Take care all and I will keep everybody posted with whatever else is going on in days to come.

Introducing Lauren Geades, one year old. Grand niece to Marinell and Zio Patrizio. Lives in Ft. Worth, TX and is charming as you can see.

Alicia and Randy Geades are her parents. Lauren's mother Alicia is Zio Patrizio's sister's daughter. I look into our wee ones' eyes, and see the universe reflected there, with all the stars and clusters of creation. As we gather next month we will once again be thrust into completion of many dreams.

Ola all in Italy and America,This is a brother-in-law to Marinella and uncle to Desiree and Patricio II. The Visconti boys are grafted nephews and I'll do some serious smash mouth on anyone who talks bad about them.

Now, I've been checking out Foggia with satellite and it looks a lot like Texas hill country. Pat Sr. tells me you make some serious wine there. We grow grapes in Texas now. It used to be only a native variety we call muscadine.

It looks like you could use some of the 2 or 3 feet of rain we have had in the past 2 months. Wish we could share. If I could round up all of our cousins from Dallas, Albuquerque, Wolf City, San Bernadino and Atlanta we might be able to be big enough for a challenge.

We tend to get scattered out over here in the 48 contiguous states. It's great knowing there is a family connection in the fine country of Italy. Maybe someday there will be a chance to congregate, if everyone focuses on it.

Families are the result of many conscious and unconscious actions throughout the history of mankind. The ones that persevere are special and destined to mark that history with their particular uniqueness and power of love.

If anyone who is in the aura of this blog wants to go see a movie, play a round of golf, go fishing or just hang out with the senior sibling of Pat,Sr. just raise your hand or send out a 10/4 good buddy on that.

I'm missing all of you and want to feel that Harra wind blow my skin dry.

I have been fully graduated, and now am smart. Just like Vinnie. So here it is: the connection we share is our spouses' brothers and sisters. The Ruggiero is broad and wide, and doesn't take any shit!

The Darnells' are wide, not as broad, and don't take any shit either; and The Visconti boys don't take any of that shat either.

That's three like-minded family groups! That makes a stable base for a foundation: Team Ruggiero-Darnell-Visconti.

Do you like what I'm saying? Well it all starts with Value Proposition. For instance we delve into the dynamics of our inherited value by asking the right questions:

How do we stay in touch within family developments as a group involved with daily family building here and there?

Who are the leaders?

Who are the side-kicks?

When do we meet?

When do we consult?

What is our commerce?

What is our quality requirement?

Why are we meeting?

......and so on.

Do you understand the early and later benefits of this idea? I should hope so. We must involve each other to get each other to where we want each other to be.

In that context we have to find who is willing, and ask the questions, "What is it you desire? When do you want it to happen? Where is it you think you need to be? Who is it you desire to be with? How do you think it will best be done? and Why is it your desire?"

Some at first will be more involved than others, whilst later others will fill in the gaps that meed attention; and before we all know it: Team RDV is borne.

We have tried several approaches, they all have worked well. Now we consolidate our efforts, and come up with "The Team System" that winnows out the unnecessary stuff, and builds on our already substantial foundation of resource... eh?

Two Months Later... Post graduation

While I spend all this time up here in Foggia I realize that I need to be speaking the language that my knuckles show. So in the two months that I'm here, I am spending time with the whole family pasting parts and pieces of my broken Italian together to complete a full sentence or what not.
I am starting to get a hang of the time and some other stuff, by spending time with most of the cousins and by hanging out with my Aunt and Uncle, the ones we are staying with. VV
